Grades 1, 5, 6 and 7 Speech & Performance Theory now online

Speech and Performance Theory exams for Grades 1, 5, 6 and 7 are now available online.

Enrolments can now be submitted via AMEB Connect, just the same as practical exams. Candidates can choose to activate their exam on any day and at any time that is convenient to sit this exam, whether this is right away, or up to twelve months from the day of enrolling.

New Accordion syllabus

A new Accordion syllabus is available for examination from 2021. This revised syllabus 2021 Accordion Syllabus is available as a digital download and has a refreshed Manual List.

The old syllabus as published in the 2019 Accordion Syllabus will be available for examination in 2021 and 2022, and will be withdrawn from 1 January 2023.

A new Harp syllabus is available for examination from 2021. This syllabus caters for candidates on both Lever and Pedal harp.

For the first time, publications are available to use in conjunction with the syllabus:

  • Grade books for Preliminary to Grade 4

Notices of Examination Letters will no longer be posted. Enrollers should watch for email notification of exam dates, which will be sent as soon as exams are scheduled. Notices must be downloaded and printed by logging into AMEB Connect or can be emailed directly to students.

Old (2018) Piano syllabus examinable until end of 2021

Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, AMEB has decided to postpone the withdrawal of the 2018 Piano syllabus by one year. Teachers and candidates can continue to prepare according to the Old (2018) Piano syllabus for exams in 2020 and 2021. Read more.
