For many exams live piano accompaniment is an essential and vital element helping young musicians develop important ensemble skills.
Make sure you know when accompaniment is required.
P Plate Piano gives young pianists a non-graded start to their musical journey. The program is designed to build performance confidence. Students are introduced to a range of performance styles and technical challenges through fun activities and a classical to contemporary repertoire selection. Creative interaction with music is encouraged!
Graded assessment gives students scaffolded support as their ability improves. Students’ technique, confidence and performance skills grow with each level attained. Exam options include traditional grade (Comprehensive), performance only (Repertoire) or For Leisure. Most syllabuses offer a Performance or Speech and Drama Certificate to cap off their AMEB grade achievements.
Associate and Licentiate Diplomas are AMEB's highest level of achievement. Diploma level students have a sophisticated musical understanding. Their performance abilities are also well above graded exams requirements. These qualifications are highly respected in both the Australian and international arts communities.
