Anne-Frances Hopkins earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, her master’s degree in chamber music and collaborative performance from the San Francisco Conservatory, and her postgraduate certificate in piano performance from the Prague Conservatory of Music. She was a Big Brother Scholarship winner and a prize winner in the Smetana International Piano Competition in Prague.
Ms Hopkins was a teacher and accompanist at the San Francisco Conservatory and performed regularly with singers from the San Francisco Opera and with members of the San Francisco New Music Ensemble. She also taught at the International School of Prague and toured Europe as a member of Trio Vivo. In Sydney, she has been a soloist with the Conservatorium orchestra, a guest pianist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and the winner of many awards.
While continuing to perform, Ms Hopkins teaches HSC and tertiary students, as well as younger students, in her private studio. She also teaches composition and high levels of theory.
Ms Hopkins is a mentor in high school career programs and also enjoys playing at Westmead Nursing Home, where her mother is a volunteer.
