Tonya Lemoh holds an artist diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark and a master of music diploma from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She earned her postgraduate diploma in piano performance and her Bachelor of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her international awards include first prize at the Helsingor International Piano Competition and at the Royal Academy of Aarhus Concerto Competition, as well as a diplom d’honneur at the International Grieg Piano Competition. Dr Lemoh has also won the national Danish radio prize for best solo CD. She was awarded several Danish, American and Australian scholarships.

As a pianist, Dr Lemoh has performed and recorded for ABC Radio, Danish national radio and Danish television. She has performed regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in Northern Europe. Dr Lemoh has been a soloist with orchestras in Denmark, Bulgaria and Australia and has also performed in international new music festivals in Australia, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Her four solo CDs have received international critical acclaim. She has also recorded two CDs as a member of the Copenhagen Piano Duo, as well as a duo CD for clarinet and piano with Deborah de Graaff.

Dr Lemoh has many years of teaching experience. She has been a lecturer at the University of Copenhagen and a piano teacher at Conservatorium high schools in Sydney and Denmark. Dr Lemoh was also a faculty accompanist at the Boston Conservatory. She transcribed and edited a piano suite for Denmark’s leading music publisher, Wilhelm Hansen.

Dr Lemoh has been an adjudicator at piano competitions in Denmark and Australia. She has worked with music students at vocal, instrumental and composition workshops and festivals, as well as performing in charity concerts and with community orchestras.
