For more than 35 years, Rachel Herbert has taught flute in public and private schools and in her private studio. She also tutors at school music camps.

Ms Herbert is a regular member of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sydney Contemporary Orchestra and the Manly Warringah Orchestra (Choir), performing on flute and piccolo. She also performs as a soloist and with ensembles and has toured for Musica Viva.

Having retired from conducting in 2019, Ms Herbert has extensive experience as a school band and ensembles director.
