Lamorna Nightingale is a member of Australia’s premier music group, Ensemble Offspring. She regularly performs as a casual member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Mrs Nightingale studied with Vernon Hill and Virginia Taylor at the Canberra School of Music and with Margaret Crawford at the Sydney Conservatorium, where she completed a master’s degree in performance.

Specialising in the repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries, Mrs Nightingale has established strong working relationships with many composers. Her 2009 recording Eat Chocolate and Cry – Australian Flute Music 1999–2009 was a collaboration with Christine Draeger and Jocelyn Fazzone, with whom she established the publishing company Fluteworthy. Her books Lamorna’s Beginner Flute Book, Repertoire for the Beginner Flautist and 99 Solos and Studies for the Flute have recently been published.

Mrs Nightingale has taught flute for the Australian Institute of Music, the University of New South Wales, and several Sydney schools.
