Kaylie Dunstan earned her Bachelor of Music in percussion performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, followed by a performance diploma from the Music School in Detmold, Germany and a second Bachelor of Music in percussion in Stuttgart. For her Masters of Music, she studied with Claire Edwardes and Daniel Rojas at the Sydney Conservatorium.

As a freelance percussionist in Sydney, Ms Dunstan has performed regularly with the Metropolitan Orchestra, Blush Opera, Kammerklang, Dynasty Drumline, Halcyon and Ensemble Offspring. In 2014, she received a performance grant from the New Music Network and the Rotary Club Felix Switzer prize for outstanding performance.

Ms Dunstan has held teaching positions at Sydney Grammar School, Abbotsleigh, Trinity Grammar, the University of Sydney, St Catherine’s School, Emanuel School, Moriah College, Santa Maria del Monte School and Directions in Music. She writes her own percussion education resources for students.
