Julie Spithill-Evans is an experienced teacher and performer in a variety of musical styles. Classically trained at the NSW Conservatorium of Music, she holds a bachelor of arts degree in music and education, as well as a master’s degree in music education.

Ms Spithill-Evans is a lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She recently co-authored a book on the 100-year history of the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW.

As well as maintaining a private studio, Ms Spithill-Evans is a pedagogical adviser for AusAID in developing countries. She has been a guest lecturer at the International Conference of Jazz Educators and the Australian Society for Music Education. Ms Spithill-Evans has adjudicated at numerous eisteddfods and festivals.
