Helen Marchant has taught speech, drama and communication to students at her private studio for 30 years. She also has many years of experience teaching speech, drama and communication at both primary and high schools.

Mrs Marchant has given short and extended presentations for the Speech and Drama Association of NSW. She has also presented seminars on a range of topics, including public speaking, mime and improvisation techniques, and the AMEB Drama and Communication Syllabus. Mrs Marchant is a frequent guest speaker at Rotary and Lions Club events.

For 25 years, Mrs Marchant has been an eisteddfod adjudicator both within New South Wales and in other states. She is Honorary Secretary of the City of Parramatta Eisteddfod, the largest speech and drama competition in Sydney, and also adjudicates at Voice of Youth public speaking competitions.

As a volunteer adult literacy officer, Mrs Marchant teaches migrants and unemployed people. She is also a church cantor and the organiser and director of the church’s annual Good Friday pageant.
