After completing Year 12 at the Conservatorium High School, Gina Henery studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before moving to London to further her violin studies.

While in the United Kingdom, Mrs Henery was a regular performer with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. She held a full-time first violin position with the English National Ballet. Since returning to Australia in 1998, she has worked with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and is a regular player and director of the Sydney Scoring Orchestra. She has recorded notable movie soundtracks, including Happy Feet, Australia and Mad Max: Fury Road.

For many years, Mrs Henery was a violin teacher and tutor at St Andrew’s Cathedral School. She was also a regular performer and chamber music tutor at the Riverina Summer School for Strings. Mrs Henery tutored the East Lindfield Primary School String Ensemble, which she conducted in numerous competitions.

In addition to her performing and examining commitments, Mrs Henery teaches string students at her private studio in Sydney.
