Catherine Fluke is an alumnus of the Conservatorium High School, where she completed her ASCM on both piano and flute performance. She then studied with Vernon Hill at the Canberra School of Music, where she completed her bachelor of music, and with Susan Milan in London.

Miss Fluke has performed regularly as a soloist, including radio broadcasts and recordings. She is a former member of the Chambermaids wind quintet and performed with the Musica Viva schools program. As an orchestral player, she has worked with the Elizabethan Trust Orchestra, the Opera Australian Orchestra and the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Bolshoi Ballet Orchestra during the Sydney and Newcastle season.

A passionate advocate for the flute and a dedicated educator, Miss Fluke has taught the flute for over 30 years in schools and in her private studio. She enjoys working with young musicians in a variety of settings, including flute ensembles, school bands and orchestras. Currently, she is preparing a flute tutorial book.

Miss Fluke conducts primary school bands that perform at school fetes, festivals and retirement villages. She also tutors at school music camps and intensive music education programs.
