BMus, LRSM, DipABRSM, AMusA, FMMTA

Anthony van den Broek completed his BMus (performance) at the University of New South Wales and studied under concert pianist Julie Adam. He continues his studies in piano pedagogy and performance with Therese Milanovic, John Bloomfield and Edna Golandsky.

An active soloist and chamber musician, Mr van den Broek also teaches pedagogy, piano technique and music history. He has lectured at universities throughout the United States and has worked privately with undergraduate and graduate piano majors at those institutions. Mr van den Broek has taught piano and music theory subjects privately for 20 years, both in Australia and overseas, with students ranging from beginner to diploma levels. He presents workshops on piano technique and also mentors several classical and jazz concert pianists, as well as piano teachers.

Mr van den Broek is a certified practitioner of the Taubman Approach, a ground-breaking analysis of the mostly invisible motions that function beneath a virtuoso technique. The approach has been successful in helping pianists overcome technical limitations and physical injuries.

In addition to his work as a performer and teacher, Mr van den Broek has served on jury panels for Australian and international piano competitions.
