The winner of numerous prizes from eisteddfods and competitions across Australia, Mrs Jacono-Gilmovich has also won the National Youth Concerto Competition, the Wenkart Foundation Scholarship, the Marcus Edwards Violin Prize, the Perry Hart Memorial Prize, the International String Player of the Year Award at the Gisborne International Music Competition in New Zealand, and the Order of Australia Association Scholarship.

Currently concertmaster of the Metropolitan Orchestra, Mrs Jacono-Gilmovich has worked with orchestras including the Sydney Metropolitan Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. She also produces and performs in many new music and chamber music performances each year and is particularly interested in commissioning new works and creating performances for children.

Mrs Jacono-Gilmovich is the founder of the Inner West Institute of Music, which offers the Henry Jacono Scholarship. She continues to work in Sydney schools, including Santa Sabina College and Rosebank College, and has developed new string programs in several Sydney primary schools.

As a volunteer, Mrs Jacono-Gilmovich gives her time to music groups and to children who would otherwise be unable to afford music lessons.
