Sorina Zamfir graduated from the Bucharest Conservatorium of Music in 1982 with a double bachelor’s degree in piano performance and music education. From a young age, she performed extensively as a concert pianist and chamber musician in the most prestigious concert halls in Bucharest, as well as in Weimar and Prague.

Mrs Zamfir is in constant demand as an associate artist for concerts, broadcasts and recordings. Since 1995, she has collaborated with prominent teachers from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, accompanying and coaching students for masterclasses, graduate and postgraduate recitals, and international competitions.

A founding member of the NSW Accompanists’ Guild, Mrs Zamfir has been awarded numerous prizes in eisteddfods and competitions both nationally and internationally. As a piano teacher, she has established a solid reputation with broad experience and consistent results in eisteddfods and examinations.
