Patricia Stuart-Carberry studied clarinet with Lawrence Dobell of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. A former tertiary student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, she also studied with Philippe Cuper of the Paris Opera Orchestra and Rodney Jacobsen of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

Mrs Stuart-Carberry has played in community orchestras in Sydney and regional New South Wales and also performed a solo series at St James Cathedral. She has recorded six CDs of clarinet repertoire.

An experienced teacher of students preparing for diploma and HSC exams, Mrs Stuart-Carberry continues to teach students and train staff for exam preparation and performance practice. She has developed a unique and effective technique for students learning clarinet and is currently writing a book on clarinet technique pedagogy.

Mrs Stuart-Carberry has been an adjudicator for many eisteddfods and competitions throughout New South Wales. She has coordinated skill sharing between regional music teachers and has conducted the combined schools orchestra.
