Frances Curtis has performed with the Armidillos Theatre Company in Armidale and at the University of New England. She has also directed plays for schools and community groups. Her productions have received awards at the annual Canberra Area Theatre Awards.

Mrs Curtis has taught drama in NSW schools for over 30 years. She was Head Teacher of Performing Arts at Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts. Her students achieved outstanding results in HSC Drama and in regional and state festivals and competitions, including becoming the NSW Senior Theatre Sports champions in 2016. Mrs Curtis has also taught drama method at the University of New England, where she has also been an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Health and Professional Studies. She has run workshops on voice for students, teachers, lawyers, management students and the tourism industry.

A member of Circus WOW and the Curious Rendition Orchestra, Mrs Curtis has conducted workshops in performance and voice in Wollongong. She continues to tutor in drama at Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts and also teaches privately.
