Information for diplomates

 

Date and time
 

Date: Sunday 8 March, 2026
Time: commences 2:00pm*
Venue: The Sir John Clancy Auditorium, University of NSW (C24 Chancellery Walk, Kensington)

*Diplomates are to be seated in the auditorium between 1:10pm and 1:30pm. Guests may enter from 1:30pm. 

Schedule

12:00pm Diplomate registration commences.
  Gowns and stoles can be collected from regalia area in foyer.
  Diplomate diplomas can be collected from foyer corridor.
  Photographer available for individual portraits.
  Pre-ordered plaques available for collection.
  Programs for guests available for sale and collection.
1:00pm Diplomates assemble in left foyer corridor for entry.
1:30pm All diplomates to be seated.
  Main doors to auditorium open for public entry (unassigned seating).
2:00pm Ceremony commences.
4:00pm Ceremony concludes.
4:30pm All hired gowns and stoles must be returned by this time.
4:45pm Venue closes.

          

Tickets

 

General admission tickets and programs for family and friends can be purchased online. Limited tickets will be available at the box office on the day.

Diplomate ticket: complimentary

Adult ticket: $49.90 (plus booking fee)

Concession ticket*: $42.90 (plus booking fee)

*Children (under 17) and concession card holders, seniors and pensioners

 

Dress code

 

The AMEB (NSW) presentation ceremony is a formal event. Suggested attire for diplomates is smart black or dark coloured trousers/stockings. Dress code for guests is smart casual. Please see below example of regalia worn by previous ceremony performers (flowers not included).

Diplomates are encouraged to wear academic dress, which consists of a black ankle-length gown with a coloured silk stole that represents the following awards:

AMusA: lilac
LMusA: rose pink
ASPA, APCA, ADPA: grass green

A diplomate regalia hire package can be pre-booked online and collected upon arrival.

Non-return of hired items

 

If a hired item is not returned at the conclusion of the ceremony, you will be invoiced for the full replacement cost of the item in addition to the original hire charge, being:

Stoles: $85

Gowns: $230

 

Photos, ceremony video and commemorative plaques

 

No photographs or videos are permitted inside the auditorium during the ceremony. A professional photographer and videographer will capture the day. Photos and video of the ceremony are available for purchase through independent providers. Any enquiries regarding these services should be directed to the providers, not AMEB (NSW).

Venue information

 

Pedestrian access
Enter through gate 9 on High Street Kensington.

Public transport
The L2 Randwick Light rail line has a station at UNSW that stops directly outside The Sir John Clancy Auditorium. Selected buses travel from the city to Anzac Parade and High St (nearest cross street is Wansey Rd). For details call 131 500 or visit www.transportnsw.info.

Parking
Enter through Gate 11, Botany St. Free parking is available in the multi-level parking station. When you exit the car park, walk through the Samuels Building underpass and proceed down Chancellery Walk. The Sir John Clancy Auditorium is on the left.

Note: street parking is extremely limited. Please allow plenty of extra travel time and aim to arrive early.

Food
A small number of vendors in the Mathews food court behind The Sir John Clancy Auditorium will be open from 11am to purchase lunch and snacks. Only bottled water will be permitted in the auditorium.
