Jade Park
Jade Park

Jade Park sat for her first trumpet exam with AMEB (NSW) at the age of 7. Over the next decade, she successfully completed twenty AMEB exams across six different subjects.  Jade’s AMEB journey culminated with receiving the Licentiate of Music (LMusA) for both oboe and trumpet in her early teens.

In 2022, Jade won the Barbara Robinson Prize and the Players’ Award in Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra Secondary Schools Concerto Competition. During the same year, still in high school on scholarship at St Andrew’s Cathedral School, Jade performed as one of our outstanding diplomates at the 2022 AMEB (NSW) diploma presentation ceremony.

After completing high school in 2023, she participated in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Young Symphonists program, the Australian Youth Orchestra Autumn and Winter Seasons and National Music Camps.

Jade’s achievements have seen her perform across the globe. One of her favourite memories was performing in the winner’s concert of the Vienna International Music Competition at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

Jade recently returned from Japan where she performed a recital presentation at the International Women’s Brass Conference. Jade then had to repack her luggage before heading off to the USA. Here she will spend the next few years in New York, where she is the recipient of the Kovner Fellowship - a full scholarship for Jade’s tertiary study at The Juilliard School.

In October, she will make a quick trip to Michigan to perform as one of only six selected finalists in the Ellsworth Smith Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious trumpet competitions.

We wish Jade every success as she continues her musical trajectory overseas, sharing her incredible talent with the world.
