Joanne Carey has over 25 years of experience in teaching clarinet and saxophone at both the primary and secondary levels.

Since 2014, Ms Carey has been woodwind coordinator at Knox Grammar School’s Knox Academy of Performing Arts. In that role, she oversees a team of woodwind tutors, develops a chamber music program for woodwind ensembles, and nurtures music elective students in their performance activities.

Ms Carey is especially interested in how the mind–body relationship affects learning and performance. She has studied the Alexander Technique, including the BodyMinded Training Program, and also teaches the Pilates Method.
