Ann Hoy OAM teaches piano and musicianship at her studio in the Southern Highlands. A former high school music teacher, she has almost 50 years of experience as a private piano teacher.

Mrs Hoy served as Director of Music at Calrossy School and as Head of Keyboard Studies at Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music, where she was also director of the orchestral program. She had a special interest in training and conducting youth and school orchestras, bands and instrumental ensembles. While at the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium, Mrs Hoy initiated and directed biannual orchestra festivals where commissioned works for youth orchestras by prominent Australian composers were regularly premiered.

In addition to teaching, Mrs Hoy has extensive experience as an accompanist at eisteddfods and at AMEB and HSC examinations.

Mrs Hoy has been acknowledged as a Teacher of Excellence for services to music education. In 1998, she received the AMEB (NSW) Teaching Shield for Piano (Preliminary to Grade 6). In 2012, she received the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to music through her work at the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music.
