James Abraham studied at university in York, England with an organ scholarship and then earned his Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Reading University.

While at university, Mr Abraham was appointed Assistant Organist at Selby Abbey in Yorkshire. He has performed in many churches and cathedrals in England, France, Belgium, Norway and the United States, including York Minster, Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral in London, and Orleans Cathedral in France.

After moving to Australia, he was appointed Head of Music at Loreto Normanhurst before moving to Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta and then to Pittwater House School as Coordinator of Creative Arts. He has taught both piano and organ in Australia and the United Kingdom from beginner to diploma level, with students ranging from 5 to 75 years old.

Mr Abraham has recorded many CDs and has performed on television and radio. He is active as an organist and piano accompanist, playing regularly with the Manly Warringah Choir and accompanying and conducting The Cathedral Singers. Mr Abraham also accompanies string, woodwind and brass instruments in examinations and HSC performances.
