Christine Logan is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She continued her piano studies in Sydney with Elizabeth Kozma and in the USA with Bela Siki. With the assistance of a Sydney Moss Travelling Scholarship, she graduated with Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Cincinnati. Dr Logan has studied harpsichord with Eiji Hashimoto, fortepiano with Malcolm Bilson and achieved her LTCL in recorder.

From 1987 to 2018, she taught performance, performance studies and a wide range of academic music subjects at UNSW, and for 5 years was the Head of the School of Music and Music Education. Dr Logan has held positions of accompanist and recitalist at Canberra School of Music and taught at Sydney Conservatorium and Sydney University. She has performed and broadcast as a soloist, duo pianist, fortepianist, chamber musician and accompanist in Australia and USA including with the Australia Ensemble, Adelaide Chamber Orchestra, Canberra Wind Soloists, and with duo piano partners including Ian Munro and Rodney Smith. With Julie Adam, she recorded the complete duo piano music by Frank Martin for ABC Classics.

As well as having taught piano for over 40 years, Dr Logan is currently performing, lecturing, examining and adjudicating.

Her publications include a book on aspects of Australian piano music since 1950, papers on topics including interpretive issues in Beethoven, Messiaen, Faure, Martin, Australian music (including contributions to Oxford Music Online), Colin Bright, and orchestral thinking in piano playing. She has also been involved with curriculum for tertiary music study, and supervisor for many PHD and graduate theses on a wide range of musical, pedagogical and educational topics.
