Peter Jacob has performed as a percussionist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Kanazawa Chamber Orchestra, and Synergy Percussion. He was Principal Percussion and Principal Tympani with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Acting Principal Percussion with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra. For 20 years, he was percussionist with the Australian band Sirocco.

Mr Jacob teaches percussion both privately and at Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School, Northbridge Primary School, and the Lindfield K–6 Campus of Newington College.

He is a composer of percussion ensemble music.
