Edward Goyer studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, majoring in jazz vibraphone, harmony and arranging. He later completed a diploma of education and a master of creative arts research degree in composition. In 2017, his project Polymorphic Orkestra received a grant from the Australia Council for the Arts for recording and releasing the album Confluence.
Mr Goyer has performed and recorded with many artists, including Ed Kuepper, Waldo Fabian, Jenny Morris, Gai Bryant, John Morrison, CODA and Cuban-born trumpet player Lazaro Numa. He is also a regular performer on the vibraphone with the Benny Goodman Project, Gai Bryant’s band Caribé, the Kinetic Jazz Orchestra and Polymorphic Orkestra.
In addition, Mr Goyer has performed at many local, regional and interstate events and venues, such as WOMAD in Adelaide, the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre, the Bellingen Music Festival, the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Recital Hall, The Basement and the Sydney Latin Jazz Festival.
Mr Goyer teaches privately at his home studio and also at Roseville College and Abbotsleigh. A piano accompanist and former HSC music examiner, he prepares repertoire and performs with students for HSC music examinations and for other recitals.
