Changes to regional exams in 2020
A message from the AMEB (NSW) regarding examinations in regional areas in 2020.

AMEB (NSW) continues to act in accordance with official advice from health authorities NSW Health and the Australian Government Department of Health in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19).  Given the current social distancing policy, the First Session of Regional exams cannot commence as planned in June. The dates for the First Regional exam session (all instruments and Speech & Drama) have been deferred to later in the year (for 2020 only) and will replace the Second Regional Session. Teachers who would normally enrol their students in the latter session will need to enrol in the First Session. Please see the Exam dates 2020 page which outlines these dates.

Candidates who have already enrolled in the First Regional session need not do anything other than check carefully when their examination period will now be held. We hope that the possibility of these later dates is good news for most enrollers.

Candidates wishing to be examined earlier will be able to transfer to a Video Repertoire exam in session 20. Just submit an email request to There will be no charge for these transfers on this occasion. Enrolments for Video Repertoire Exams open on Monday 20 April and close on Monday 25 May. Please find information on this website here.

AMEB (NSW) administrative personnel are available during business hours to answer enquiries by email – - and to assist with enrolments.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation. Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of AMEB candidates, accompanists, examiners and administrative personnel.

Please check our website regularly for any announcements about changes.
