AMEB (NSW) held their annual Diploma Presentation Ceremony on Sunday 10 March 2019 at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW, Kensington. Over 170 talented Music and Speech and Drama students celebrated the culmination of years of hard work as they received their 2018 diplomas in front of hundreds of family and friends. Mike Tyler, the Chair of the Federal AMEB Board, was present to deliver the keynote address and present recipients with diplomas and medals. Outstanding teachers and examiners were also recognised for their achievements during the 2018 examination year.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Meriel Owen. Now retired, Meriel examined for 52 years and continues to teach and perform in the Orange region of NSW. Dr Rita Crews OAM (pictured) was presented with the Honorary Fellowship Award (HonFMusA), which paid tribute to her many contributions to the AMEB (NSW) as a Board member, Examiner and the author of publications commemorating the 2018 Centenary of AMEB at both a state and Federal level.
