Melissa Hoile has 17 years of teaching experience. She is currently Head of Woodwind at Sydney Girls High School.

In 1986, Ms Hoile was awarded a Big Brother Scholarship that enabled her to study in London with William Bennet. She also played in masterclasses for James Galway. In 1996, she was awarded the Helen Myers Scholarship.

Ms Hoile frequently tutors and conducts workshops for the Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Education. She has adjudicated at NSW Flute Society eisteddfods.

A member of a wind/string trio that performs regularly, Ms Hoile also performs with the Sydney Opera House Babies Proms Orchestra.
