Martin Kay is an accomplished saxophonist, clarinetist and composer. He studied in New York City on a Churchill Fellowship and has a master’s degree in saxophone performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Mr Kay has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera Australia Orchestra. He plays tenor saxophone in Continuum Sax, Australia’s leading saxophone quartet.
A featured soloist on Tim Davies’s 2009 Grammy-nominated album Counting to Infinity, Mr Kay also performed on The Fantastic Terrific Munkle’s album Music To Dance To and the eponymous album The Reaston/Kay Effect.
Mr Kay lectures in saxophone at the University of Newcastle.
