COVID-19 Update

LATEST COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES

AND THE IMPACT ON AMEB (NSW) EXAMS

Information as at 12.00pm 28/7/2021
Please continue to check this page for updated information.

AMEB (NSW) will be acting in accordance with official advice regarding COVID-19 from health authorities NSW Health and the Australian Government Department of Health and adhering to Sydney stay at home rules.

Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of all AMEB candidates, accompanists, examiners and administrative personnel.

TEMPORARY PAUSE ON FACE-TO-FACE ENROLMENTS

Due to the uncertainty surrounding further extensions to the stay-at-home orders issued by the NSW Government, AMEB (NSW) has decided to temporarily pause access to the enrolment process for both Metropolitan and Regional face-to-face exams until 30 August 2021.

Enrolments will continue in

  • Online written exams (Session 90),
  • Video Repertoire exams (Session 21),
  • Rockschool Video exams (Session 81).

Enrollers are welcome to access AMEB Connect during this period to enrol in these sessions.

CURRENT ADVICE REGARDING EXAMS

Metropolitan face-to-face exams - Music (Sessions 03 & Session 33)

AMEB (NSW) recognises the impact the extended lockdown may have on exam preparation for enrollers and students working toward Metropolitan exams in the next two months. For this reason, no Metropolitan exams will be scheduled for the first two weeks of the dates originally published for Period 1.

These exams will now take place in a combined Period 1 & 2 which will be between 28 August and 2 October.

All affected enrollers have been emailed with their options and been given the opportunity to respond.

Metropolitan face-to-face exams - Speech & Drama (Session 10, Period 1)

For the same reason, we have decided to extend Metro Speech & Drama second session, Period 1 for a further two weeks. This exam period will now take place between 28 August and 2 October.

All affected enrollers have been emailed with their options and been given the opportunity to respond.

Regional NSW Exams: North, North Coast, West, South (Session 02)
  • Exams scheduled to be held in Orange on 23 - 27 July have been cancelled and all enrollers notified.
  • Some exams from 16 July to 11 August will proceed as scheduled.
  • Where exams need to be cancelled, AMEB (NSW) will advise enrollers by email with as much notice as possible.
  • If exams are cancelled, enrollers will be offered a refund or a free transfer to a Video Repertoire exam.
  • AMEB (NSW) continues to strive to ensure that exams proceed as scheduled for as many candidates as possible.
Enrollers expecting exams between 16 July and 11 August 2021 should check their emails and this website regularly

Video Repertoire Exams

These exams are proceeding as normal. However, results and certificates may be delayed. Please see here for more information.

CURRENT ADVICE REGARDING RESULTS AND CERTIFICATES

Exam results – Metro and Regional

Delays to the uploading of results and delivery of certificates are currently unavoidable due to Australia Post delivery schedules and COVID-related factors involving the receipt and processing of examiner reports. We regret that AMEB (NSW) is unable to meet the usual result timeline of up to four weeks. We thank you for your patience and understanding given the current circumstances.
