Janice Squire

BMusEd, BMus, MIMT

Janice has taught flute extensively for many years. She qualified in both performance and music education at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Janice is a soloist with the Astra Chamber Orchestra in Melbourne and has performed in numerous community orchestras and various chamber music ensembles.

She has tutored for many community bands, had much experience in classroom music teaching and conducting student orchestras, flute and woodwind ensembles, particularly at St Andrew’s Cathedral School, Sydney and currently at William Clarke College, Kellyville. Janice is a member of the Sydney Flute Society and an inaugural member of the Victorian Flute Guild. She has adjudicated the Lesley Barklamb Scholarship (Victoria).

Janice acquired an alto flute during one of the many Australian National Flute Conventions she has attended and participated in since their inauguration.

She has extensive experience in music theatre, both playing in the pit and conducting in the role of musical director.
