Brett Mullins

BMus, AMusA

Examiner Number:1090

Brett Mullins has been a written assessor for the AMEB since 2005, more recently including online and Federal Diploma examinations. He has been a lecturer and tutor at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music since 1996 in courses such as Aural Perception, Harmony and Analysis, and Music History (especially 18th and 19th century music).

Graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music in Violin performance, Brett went on to teach violin both privately and in school programs. A renewed interest in musicology led to appointments at the Conservatorium in the Extension Studies Department (now the Access Centre) and then on to tertiary employment under the guidance of Richard Toop and Peter McCallum.

As a partner in a successful private studio, Brett has also had the opportunity to establish and conduct/arrange music for student string orchestras, as well as privately tutor in theory, HSC music and composition.
