Helen Marchant

Helen Marchant gained her Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama (Practical and Theory) in 1989 and her Certificate of Communication from ASCA (Australian Speech Communication Association) in 1995.

She teaches at her own studio in Greystanes where students learn all aspects of Speech and Drama, Public Speaking and Communication Skills.  Her teaching experience spans 25 years and includes 11 years at a leading independent girls’ school.  She teaches individual, pairs and small groups, with the primary aim of building confidence in any speaking arena.  Helen’s personal work motto is ‘Be Heard!  Be Understood!  Be Confident!’

She has presented one-day Annual Seminars at independent schools in Western Sydney on Public Speaking, Impromptu Speaking Communication for the past five years, with large numbers of students participating and gaining skills and confidence.

An experienced Adjudicator, Helen travels throughout NSW and other states each year. She particularly enjoys this contact with the wider Speech and Drama community and the opportunity it offers to encourage all who come before her for adjudication.

Helen is a longstanding member of the Speech and Drama Association of NSW and  has presented workshops on Communication, Public Speaking, and the AMEB Drama and Communication syllabus at seminars for fellow teachers and senior students of that Association.

Helen is the Secretary of one of the largest Speech and Drama Eisteddfods in NSW, a position she has held for the past 20 years. Her involvement has provided great satisfaction in knowing that the eisteddfod experience is available and enjoyed by many students of Speech and Drama in Western Sydney.
