Katrina Love’s musical training and experiences cover a broad spectrum of musical genres including classical music (from baroque to contemporary), jazz, Latin American, Indian and African music.

In late 2007 she spent several months living in Ghana, West Africa, gathering information and skills pertaining to African drumming ensembles that have been used to create a collection of graded compositions for the piano. This work contributed towards the award of a Masters of Creative Arts (Research) degree majoring in Composition. This research will be expanded in the near future for a Doctoral (PhD) award.

From 1998–1999 Katrina lived in Brazil and studied the various pianistic styles of South American music. This led to the opportunity to tour internationally (Brazil and the USA) from 1999–2001 with Alaor Macedo and the Samba Bossa 4.

Her teaching experience over the past 25 years includes classroom music teaching in public and private secondary schools, tertiary lecturing, as well as private tuition in pianoforte, electronic organ, pipe organ, musicianship and theory for students aged from four to 84.

Katrina has also worked as an examiner for the Yamaha Music Foundation and been invited to adjudicate at numerous eisteddfods and competitions across NSW and the ACT.

She currently works as a tertiary lecturer in Music and Technology, AMEB examiner for the Classical Piano, Piano for Leisure, P Plate Piano and CPM Keyboard courses, eisteddfod adjudicator and private instrumental music teacher.
